Pick & Place robot for automated handling of cut sheet metal

At HVL, we cut sheet metal using a number of cutting-edge flatbed lasers from the renowned Trumpf brand. In order to make the process as efficient as possible after cutting, we have added a Pick & Place robot to the line.

The software for this robot arm was developed by our own specialists. The conveyor belt that transports the cut sheet metal from the flatbed laser to the robot has also been designed by our engineers.

Our Pick & Place robot can be fully integrated into an ERP system.

The robot sorts, palletises and counts the sheets that come out of the flatbed lasers. It analyses the exact location of a sheet metal, picks it up and places it on a pallet. The robot knows the thickness of the sheet, counts the number of sheets and therefore knows when a pallet is full. At that moment it moves on to the next pallet.

What's more, , it also separates products from residual material using product recognition. Any waste is thus disposed of as early as possible in the process.
